I'm not a fan of most cognacs because of their cloying taste,. But this one is first rate. It's got a clean, crisp , and flavorful taste, and the price can't be beat. I don't buy any other cognac now.

Maison Rouge Cognac VSOP 750ML, France
First nosing passes pick up delicate scents of apple, grape and pear. Palate entry is mellow, rounded and mildly spiced; by midpalate, the taste gains in scope as the flavor of the wood underpins the fruitiness. Ends firmly and with an unexpected oiliness that works in its favor.--Winemag.com

This is an excellent cognac for the price. I can't give it a 5 as it is not Remy. But it is smoothe and a VSOP.
This is nineteen bucks. It tastes like twice that. If you drink a lot of cognac, like I do, this is an obvious choice and a clear price/performance leader.
Full bodied, smooth, complex. Excellent value for the money. Not worth getting the VS which is much harsher and less complex.
I love this cognac. My taste buds may not be as good as they once were at age 80 but I can't tell the difference between this and cognac costing more than twice as much, in fact I prefer it to a famous VSOP costing about $45.00.
