A Spanish Steal
We recently brought in what may be the steal of the spring- Honoro Vera Garnacha 2012. This wine is made by one of Spain's greatest wine producers- Juan Gil. This winery has received more 90+ points scores from all the major wine critics, if it were graduating school it would be Magna Cum Laude.
This new release is terrific, it's made from genuinely old vine Garnacha (a.k.a. Grenache) resulting in an inky red with gobs of black cherry fruit and wonderful spiciness. Despite the concentration the Honoro Vera is pure silk in texture, with a lip-smacking finish. This is a red that can take a light chill and be enjoyed with supper on the deck, at a picnic, or under the stars at Ravinia.
