Wasn't sure what to expect and a bit of sticker shock was attached, but from the first pull of the cork, the aroma of this elixir told me there was no debate about being worth very penny and drop. Very heavy to the nose but fragrant and rich. Can't say I've ever had such a smooth but complex bourbon. Well aged, obviously, but not overly oak-ish, with hints of caramel and dark/bittersweet chocolate and quite a powerful numbing to the tongue. Spicy, yes, but less than, say, Buffalo Trace or Knob Creek. Not sure I detected the candied orange as mentioned in the description, but my taste buds are unique - as everyone else's! The warmth reaches from the back of the tongue to the stomach and lingers a bit to let you know how good that sip was. I enjoyed this first taste neat and at room temperature and can't recommend rocks or water - the bourbon is that good. If you can swing the price, you will NOT be disappointed but this isn't a party beverage - it's for seriously close friends and relatives!
