Nose - creamy, vanilla, honey, black pepper, light smoke, ginger, a bit of lemon, a bit of something piney and resinous (Rosemary?) - kind of like a Glenlivet with an extra dose of vanilla. A little time in the glass adds a buttery element. Taste has apple, black pepper, smoke, vanilla, honey. Finish has vanilla, apple, a bit of liquorice and pepper. Also getting a nice, lingering citrus note on the finish now...a little time in the glass adds some additional citrus too. Pretty nice stuff, I might go for Glenlivet 18 for a similar, yet somewhat cheaper experience.

Old Pulteney 21 Year Single Malt Whisky
#1 World Whisky of the Year 2012
"The 21-year old Old Pulteney absolutely exploded from the glass with vitality, charisma and class." -Jim Murray's Whisky Bible
Old Pulteney 21 Year Old has been voted 2012 World Whisky of the Year by the prestigious "Jim Murray's Whisky Bible."
Scoring a record-equalling 97.5 points out of 100, it is only the third time that a single malt has ever won the prestigious award ever since 1994.
After reading the whiskey bible I tried the Old Pulteney 21 and it was as good as described. I started to buy. Locally in NJ but recently I couldn't find it locally. After searching the web not only did Liquor Barn offer it, they did it at a reasonable price (cheap) and they delivered it. I will order again
