6 Fun Tequila Drinks for Labor Day Weekend Parties

Labor Day weekend means a trip down to the beach, picnics, barbeque, and baseball. With all that excitement happening, it’s the ideal time to get together with friends and family. While the weather is still hot, why not bring out the agave for some fun tequila cocktails? Here are six of our favorite tequila cocktails, including some of the best margarita recipes we know of. Enjoy!

Ginger Beer Margarita

One of the most refreshing margarita recipes has to be the ginger beer margarita, which combines the sweet and spicy zing of ginger beer with a twist of lime juice and a kick tequila to round it all off. Try it with El JimadorReposado and get the recipe for it here.

Rosemary Peach Tequila Punch

Mmmmm….peaches and tequila. An excellent combination! This one takes a little bit of prep, since you blend up whole peaches and dissolve sugar and rosemary into syrup. But it’s worth the time once you have a frothy glass of punch to sup! 123 Organic Tequila is our go-to for this one. You can find the recipe for this fruity tequila cocktail here.

Spicy Red Chili Margarita

If you want to try a tequila cocktail that’s somehow refreshingly sweet at the same time it’s setting your mouth on fire, this is the one for you. Muddled red chilis (if you’re feeling extra-bold, try this one with fiery habaneros), HerraduraReposado Tequila, plus Cointreau and lime juice make this one a real tongue teaser. The recipe is here.

Fresh Watermelon Margarita

The cool, sweet crispiness of watermelon is the perfect complement to Jose Cuervo Silver Agave Tequila. Mixed lime juice and elderflower liqueur, this is the sweetest of margarita recipes and especially refreshing on days when it feels too hot to go outside. Make this excellent tequila cocktail here.

Fresh Pineapple Margarita

Maybe the only tequila-fruit combination that’s more delicious than watermelon is pineapple-tequila. You’ll blend up chunks of juicy sweet pineapple with lemon and lime juice, simple syrup, and Cointreau for a frothy liquid dessert that will satisfy the most demanding sweet tooth. Use El Zarco Gold and, if you’re feeling too lazy for all this prep, you can just scoop some pineapple sorbet into a blender and mix that with the tequila instead! Enjoy this margarita recipe here.

Strawberry-Balsamic Tequila Sour

Whoa, hold on there. When you think of tequila cocktails, you don’t usually picture balsamic glaze mixed in. We’re not crazy, we promise. For this unique margarita, blend fresh strawberries with simple syrup, lime juice, balsamic glaze, mint leaves, and your favorite silver agave tequila. Try it with Maestro Dobel and find the recipe for this delicious Tequila Sour here.
